Philippe Vandenberg (1952-2009) is one of the most radical post-war artists in Belgium.
Following the Philippe Vandenberg drawing exhibition at BOZAR in 2020, the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation is organizing a project week for students. The status of drawing within an artistic oeuvre will be discussed for a week, with the graphic work of Vandenberg as a case study. During workshops in the vicinity of his work, students will explore the role of the medium in theory and practice, under the supervision of artists and academics.
Johannes Muselaers, researcher at the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation, will give an introduction to the relationship between drawing and painting in the oeuvre of Vandenberg. He also provides more information about the project week.
The project week takes place between 20 and 24 January and is a collaboration between the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, ERG, KASK and La Cambre.
