Belgian euphonium player Glenn Van Looy is considered one of the leading musicians of his generation. From his hometown of Bonheiden, he grew to become an internationally respected soloist, teacher and conductor, with a career that has taken him from European competition halls to universities worldwide.
After taking his first musical steps in his father's concert band, great successes soon followed: Van Looy won numerous international competitions, including the European Solo Championships in Linz, the British Open Solo Championship, and the Ern Keller Memorial in Sydney. He also won prizes in France, Finland, South Korea and Belgium, among others.
As a soloist, he was associated with the Valaisia Brass Band, European champions, and previously with Brass Band Heist and Brass Band Buizingen. In addition to his impressive performing career, Van Looy is active as a jury member, teacher and conductor. He teaches low brass instruments at the Conservatoire Cantonal du Valais in Switzerland and gives masterclasses all over the world.
