The internationally renowned art programmes at AP Schools of Arts attract students from both Belgium and abroad, offering a rich learning environment characterised by diverse cultural perspectives, artistic traditions and frames of reference. This diversity contributes to a strong artistic dynamic and a quality that is recognised internationally.
However, this high degree of internationalisation also has financial implications. The increase in tuition fees for non-EEA students is hitting many hard, and the staff of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp deeply sympathise with the students affected. The higher tuition fees are not a policy choice by AP University College, but the direct consequence of the government’s decision to no longer fund non-EEA students. As our art programmes attract a great deal of international talent, this measure weighs particularly heavily on us. AP University College can only pass on these costs in order to continue to ensure the quality and international reach of its education — not by choice, but out of necessity.
