Quality

Since the changes to the quality assurance and accreditation system in Flemish higher education made in 2015, AP University College itself is responsible for the quality assurance of its programmes. In consultation with the Quality, Planning and Organization Office and the Education and Research Department, the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp opted for a specific approach in programme evaluation.

For the evaluation of these (multilingual) artistic programmes, external evaluators with international experience were therefore called upon for the visitation of comparable art programmes. With both the educational processes and results as well as the practice and development of the arts in focus, these external evaluators have the important advantage that the study programmes can be internationally benchmarked. This approach also allows foreign students, fellow policy makers and international lecturers to be involved in the assessment procedure.

Each programme is evaluated every six years by an international committee on the basis of the European Standard Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
