In the scope of the exhibition 'Where Are You From?', which opens on 3 February in cc Mechelen, the photography department organises a lecture by our Cuban colleague Ossain Raggi Gonzáles. Furthermore, we will screen the film '00:00:00 #2' by Linet Sánchez in the presence of the artist.

Ossain Raggi Gonzáles will talk about Cuban history, Cuban photography and the Instituto Superior de Arte, the legendary academy in Havana with which the phtography department recently started a cooperation that will enable exchanges starting from the academic year 2022-2023.


Ossain Raggi Gonzáles (1967) is a Visual Artist and Professor living and working in Havana. His work has been exhibited in Mexico, Canada and the USA, as well as in Cuba. He is currently the Head of the Photography Department at the Instituto Superior de Artes in Havana, Cuba. Ossain Raggi Gonzáles is the local promoter of the VLIR-UOS South initiative 'Time Labs' in collaboration with Bert Danckaert and Charlotte Lybeer of the photo department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Linet Sánchez (1989) is a fine artist, working primarily in photography, drawing and sculpture. She was a professor at the San Alejandro Professional Academy of Fine Arts and a member of the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC). She is a graduate of the Visual Arts program at the University of Arts (ISA), Havana, Cuba.
