As the feminist Paola Bacchetta says: before we write or talk, we should situate ourselves.
Petra's talk will be about the fragility and power of the practice of social self-situating, or als Gloria Wekker calls it the 'unpacking of our social backpack’.
Situating oneself is overcoming social shame.
Petra will concentrate on social shame from a gender and class perspective; the aim is to overcome social shame as a liberating and political practice.
