Symposium 'HPSCHD: New music for harpsichord'

The artistic research project "HPSCHD: New music for harpsichord", conducted by Liselotte Sels at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, endorses the harpsichord as a versatile instrument for new music, covering a broad stylistic and conceptual spectrum, with consideration to feasibility and accessibility, and taking the specificities of the different (historical-geographical) instrument types into account. This symposium is a concluding event of the project, at the same time wrapping it up and creating new openings. It will feature presentations, lecture-recitals and a lunch concert by performers and composers from Belgium and abroad. It is followed by an evening programme with new music for harpsichord, strings and voices about bees: "Music for the Bees".
