Roomforimprovement.be matches music students with rehearsal space

New platform roomforimprovement.be brings music students and rehearsal spaces together in Antwerp

Finding a suitable place to rehearse is not always easy for many music students. With the new platform roomforimprovement.be, students can now find a space to practise outside the Conservatoire.

The initiative was set up by Evert Van den Broeck, inspired by the experiences of his partner Eva Vennekens, a former piccolo student at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. During her studies, she noticed how difficult it can sometimes be to find a suitable rehearsal space. Rehearsing in student accommodation is not always possible, and the spaces available at the Conservatoire are also limited.

With roomforimprovement.be, Van den Broeck therefore wants to bring students into contact with local residents who are willing to make a room, attic or other space temporarily available for rehearsals.

How does it work?

The platform easily brings together supply and demand.

  • Residents can offer a space via the website. They indicate which instruments are welcome, whether a piano is available, and when the space is available.
  • Students can search for a suitable place on the platform and contact the provider directly to make practical arrangements.

The use of the platform is free of charge.

Additional opportunities to rehearse

The Royal Conservatoire Antwerp welcomes the initiative as an additional opportunity for students to rehearse. The platform is open to everyone in Antwerp and can help people discover new places to practise in the city.
