Davide Paolillo

Davide Paolillo (*1992) is an italian composer and sound artist whose work explores the physical properties of sound and the dynamic relationship between composer, performer and media.
His practice is grounded in direct experimentation with everyday objects, instrument deformations, amplification, electronics, and creative coding. In recent years, his focus has shifted towards the development and use of non-linear electroacoustic/hybrid performance systems and feedback instruments
Davide studied Jazz Piano, Electronic Music, and Composition in Milan, Como and Antwerp and he attended the one-year course from the Institute of Sonology of The Hague.
His work includes chamber music pieces, ranging for solo instruments to ensembles (with and without electronics), multimedia installations, and multi-channel electronic works.
Davide has collaborated with international musicians, ensembles, and institutions and his music has been performed at international festivals. He teaches Music Theory in the Drama department of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, as well as being founding member and electronic performer of the Rhizome Ensemble.
