Hannes d'Hoine is a double bassist, composer and electronic musician based in Antwerp, Belgium. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in jazz, he has since built a practice that spans jazz, pop, rock, IDM, electroacoustic music, theatre and dance. He is a long-standing member of Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung and has collaborated with artists across the globe, including Toumani Diabaté and Tony Allen. His music for three short films by photographer Sohrab Hura — Life is Elsewhere, The Lost Head and the Bird, and The Coast — has been shown worldwide, including at MoMA New York. A practitioner of electronic music and DIY instruments for over 25 years, d'Hoine began programming Max/MSP during the pandemic and has since developed an extensive body of custom instruments and performance systems. He performs and releases under the artist name Jon Doe One.
