Mission and vision
The Royal Conservatoire Antwerp is the only Flemish School of Arts to offers a higher education in Dance, Drama, and Music which is linked to the Arts & Education master’s programmes and which is underpinned by research.
The Dance, Drama, and Music programmes of the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, the corresponding pedagogical master’s programmes and the emphasis on research which underpins our teaching are the guiding forces for our students, who are taught with passion and talent to become professional artists, artist-teachers and researchers in the arts, each with a distinctive artistic, pedagogic, and inquiring character. A strong focus on the continuous development of the individual’s artistic path, on the acquisition of expertise with a strong vision, and on the interaction with a broad social context are the distinctive hallmarks of our teachers, students, and researchers.

Our outstanding teaching ensures maximum development for each student in terms of artistic excellence, creativity, the profession, and reflective and communicative competencies. A team of renowned and highly motivated teachers and researchers provides intensive coaching within the discipline, keeping in mind the individual profile of each student. The unique cohabitation of the various arts within the Kunstcampus deSingel and the links with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp offers, moreover, a fertile and inspiring breeding ground for interdisciplinary collaborations.
A strong link between teaching, research, and interaction with the profession ensures that our study programmes are constantly renewing, improving, and responding to social, artistic, economic, and societal evolutions.

Closely aligned to deSingel and a number of other arts organisations, the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp forms a vibrant international environment for both professional artists as well as emerging talent.
