Young Conservatoire

Are you a top talent on your instrument (jazz or classical)? Do you want a thorough education in preparation for the Conservatoire on top of the lessons in your Academy or Arthumaniora? Then Young Conservatoire is really something for you!

The Conservatoire joins forces with déKunsthumaniora Antwerpen and several academies for Music, Word and Dance to bring together top talent between the ages of 15 and 18 in the challenging preparatory program Young Conservatoire.

You create music with other top talent weekly and follow classes chamber music, ensemble and music theory on Wednesday between 4 and 8 pm.
You regularly join active masterclasses by teachers from the Royal Antwerp Conservatoire, guest professors, art education specialists, and lecture recitals and workshops by international experts.

Registration phase 1

Send us your portfolio with resume at the latest on the 21st of August 2020. In it you show which repertoire you master, which concerts you have already played and which matches you possibly participated in. If possible, add an audio recording and a letter of recommendation from your instrument teacher at the academy.
The jury (with delegates from your academy) makes a first selection based on the portfolios.

Registration phase 2

Afterwards you will be notified by the Conservatoire if 

  • you may join Young Conservatoire without audition. This is for students with a top cultural status and for pupils who demonstrate with their portfolio that they have reached a final place in an important music competition eg. Belfius, Cantabile, Steinway, Gretry, Breughel, VLAMO national final ...
  • may take part in the audition at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp on the 9th of September 2020, 18h at the Conservatoire.
