The Jazz programme has engaged renowned jazz musician Jorge Rossy for the Breathing project. During an intensive week, he will coach a group of talented students, resulting in a live performance at De Singer.
Born in Barcelona in 1964, Jorge Rossy is internationally recognised as one of the most influential drummers of his generation. He made his name as drummer in the Brad Mehldau Trio and worked with legends such as Paquito D'Rivera, Woody Shaw and Charlie Haden. In 2000, he returned to Barcelona, where he continued to develop as a pianist and vibraphonist.
The students have named their musical adventure ‘Solstice’, referring to the annual phenomenon where the sun is closest to or furthest from the earth, which almost coincides with the date of the concert. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience the result of this special collaboration!
