Lo Cant Valencià is more than a pasodoble. It is a tribute to the beauty, resilience and enduring spirit of Valencia. In this performance, traditional songs from my childhood come to life, celebrating the language and culture of my hometown while confronting the challenges it has faced.
From the oppression of Francisco Franco's dictatorship, which sought to silence our language, to the present threats posed by extremist political forces, Lo Cant Valencià gives voice to a history of resistance. Through music and storytelling, this performance is both a reckoning with the past and a celebration of a culture that refuses to be erased.
