At this year's traditional Peter Benoit Memorial, the Peter Benoit Fund pays particular attention to piano music from the first half of the 20th century. Up-and-coming talent from our piano class will perform music by Peter Benoit, Edgar Tinel, Paul Gilson, Robert Herberigs and Prosper Van Eechaute.
During this evening, the Peter Benoit 2025 Prize will also be presented. This year, a new composition will be awarded. Inspired by Peter Benoit's children's cantata De waereld in, candidates were asked to set a children's cantata to De toekoeroekoetoekomst by Maud Vanhauwaert, who wrote this text especially for the Peter Benoit Fund.
Prior to the concert, the annual General Assembly of the Peter Benoit Fund will take place. Members will receive a separate invitation to this.
The Peter Benoit Memorial is organised in cooperation with the non-profit organisation Bolster.
