Tradition in Ecdysis is a unique musical journey that weaves together traditional Hungarian folk music, improvisation, and electronics.
The title, derived from the term ecdysis – the shedding of skin in animals – symbolizes transformation and evolution. How can tradition adapt and renew itself while remaining true to its essence? The performance unfolds in three stages, exploring the interplay between past and present, between the familiar and the innovative. Combining vocals, piano, and newly composed works by contemporary composers, the production embraces a multidisciplinary approach to create an immersive experience. This fusion of tradition and modernity invites the audience to reflect on their own journey: how we carry our roots into the future while embracing change.
A performance that bridges worlds, sparking the imagination through music and beyond.
