Antwerp has a unique Jewish community, comprised predominantly of ultra-orthodox Jews, mainly of Hasidic affiliation. The Hasidic dynasty has a musical tradition ranging from touching songs to invigorating dances. This project will portray some of that beautiful music through the essence of the Hasidic wedding ceremony. Musicians from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp will work together with Antwerp’s finest local musicians to bring forth a captivating artistic performance around Antwerp’s Hasidic music.
Creative project by Omer Shneider (piano), Meir Dahan (violin) and Maarten Takken (clarinet).
