They say, "Another world is possible”.
But I am another world. Am I possible?
They say: "Another world is possible”.
But we do not want another world, another order, another logistical nightmare.
We need to radically restructure how we use information in our contemporary field, which is increasingly defined by networks, co-production and interdependence. Life may be getting harder for artists, but by sharing resources, risks and infrastructure, we can create a system where artists don't just survive, but thrive. We have the ability to make this crazy little industry sustainable, accessible, truly diverse, supported, ambitious and even FUN(?!).
NICC is an artist-led, non-profit organisation that encourages debates and discussions about the context in which artistic practice takes place. In their talk at the Royal Academy, NICC aims to challenge the way we search for information, seek answers and create our roadmap to the professional field.
