During this session, our speakers will take you through the funding possibilities for (young) artists in Antwerp and Flanders.
Discover the key to realizing your artistic dreams! Veerle Janssens and Annemie Seghers from the 'Art and Culture Direction' team of the culture department of the city of Antwerp will share interesting information about local support options for art and culture projects. Are you an art student or recent graduate? Then don't miss this opportunity! Veerle and Annemie will explain two support funds: the Fund for Talent Development and the New Makers Fund. These funds can give your artistic career a flying start, so be inspired by what is possible within Antwerp's vibrant art and cultural landscape.
"The Culture Department of the Flemish Community offers a range of possibilities for young artists to get funding. In this session, Alex Mallems, former lecturer at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and president of the commission Fine Arts that advises the Ministry of Culture, will present a number of options (artists grants for development, project subsidies, etc) young artists can apply for. He will deal with practical tips and trick: Where can you find the right information? How can you apply? What is important in order to write a correct grant application? What could be a best practice to be successful? Where can you ask for advice? Etcetera. This session will end with a Q&A and is open for both students, teachers and alumni of the Academy."
