Mark Guiliana is a versatile American drummer, composer and the bandleader of Beat Music. He has worked with Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau and David Bowie, among others. Guiliana is also founder of Beat Music Productions and the electric duo Mehliana with Brad Mehldau. Guiliana's influential career includes extensive worldwide tours and more than 30 recordings, one of which is his contribution to David Bowie's latest album, "Blackstar." The musician is described by The New York Times as a drummer around whom a cult of admiration has grown. With his unique approach, Guiliana transcends the traditional boundaries of his instrument.
It was by now the third time we welcomed Guilliana. In 2017, he was at Jazz Middelheim with our students. In 2019, he was also here for a masterclass.
