Born in Canada but raised in Belgium, Emma spent almost a decade studying jewellery design at renowned institutions across Europe, including the Glasgow School of Art and the Goldschmiedeschule Pforzheim. A 2018 alumni of the Academy, Emma is delighted to be back teaching the students about the infinite ways that Jewellery has evolved throughout history, the many roles it has played in societies around the globe, and how these aspects are integral to contemporary art jewellery practices.
Her personal artistic practice revolves around the similarities and differences between music and jewellery, and how best to explore, translate and make tangible those links. She has taken part in exhibitions across Europe and North America, including solo work for New York City Jewellery Week, and group exhibitions at Munich Jewellery Week and across Canada.
