Partnership with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp

1. Academy as a location

One of the Academy's assets is its central location and beautiful architecture by Pierre Bourla and others. The historic garden has been protected as a landscape since 1974 and will be reactivated as an exhibition space in 2021.

The Academy has an interesting infrastructure, with beautiful spaces - De Lange Zaal, the Venushal, the Wintertuin and the Temple - where exhibitions and events can be organised.

2. Academy as partner

Every collaboration is tailor-made and the possibilities depend on a number of factors and criteria. Collaboration projects are usually part of education.

2.1. Commitment & expectations

In a collaboration with students, both the process and the end result are central.

For a successful collaboration, it is necessary to formulate mutual expectations in the form of a briefing. This allows both parties to embark on an optimal collaboration within a predefined plan, budget, schedule and expectations.

2.2. Investment

The Academy regularly receives collaboration proposals. Each proposal is carefully considered and assessed by department heads and teachers. Once a collaboration is confirmed, we are happy to invest our expertise in the partnership. A financial contribution is requested from the partners, which will be used to support the education.
This amount covers both a financial contribution for participating students and a contribution for the school, which includes coordination, administration, and general support.

2.3. Proper Timing & Appropriate Content

The Academy is primarily an educational institution with a strict timetable and a carefully developed curriculum in which the artistic vision of each department takes priority. Therefore, collaboration proposals are evaluated based on their content. If this criterion is met, it is important to assess whether the timing is feasible. We recommend submitting proposals well in advance.
