Anouk Llaurens

Anouk Llaurens (born in 1969) is a dancer, teacher, researcher and shiatsu practitioner who graduated from a.pass (2016) and CNDC d’Angers (1992). She teaches at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, University of Nice Côte d'Azur, “L'oeil et la main”, ImPulsTanz Vienna, Warsaw CI FLOW, Freiburg Contact Festival, Independent Dance London. Through her research on poetic documentation, Anouk investigates the notion of "experience as document". She develops "live documents" in the form of performances and participatory practices. "Replays, variations on Lisa Nelson's Tuning Scores" is her new research project that addresses the question of heritage, in dialogue with the philosopher/dancer Emma Bigé. She is a founding member of embrace, a network of practitioners dedicated to the soma and runs "Tuning to the poetic space", an independent dance lab in Brussels. Recent publications includes, "In these circumstances: On collaboration, performativity, self-organisation and transdisciplinarity in research-based practices", a.pass, Brussels (2022) ‘Mind the dance’ online publication (2018). She collaborates with Belgium artist Julien Bruneau. She lives in Brussels.
