Isabel Voets studied Word Art at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.
Since 2006 she has been a reporter and radiomaker for VRT, and since 2009 for Klara. In addition, she works as a freelancer for various music theater companies. Under the wings of Theater De Spiegel she was one of co-creators of the sound performance 'Oort' (2021).
During the preliminary research for Oort, a collaboration with the IPEM (UGent) and composer Stefan Wellens also developed, from which the 3D audio installation ‘Bast’ emerged (MHKA, 2023).
She makes radio documentaries and/or podcasts for Radio 1 and Klara, including 'Ons Ellen' (Our Ellen, audience award RVU radio prize 2003, nomination Prix Europa 2004), 'In Coma' (2006, nomination Dexia Persprijs). For Klara, she made or collaborated on among others: 'De Rivieren' (The Rivers, nomination Prix Europa 2009), 'Opus 14-18' (2013), 'Beeldenstormen' (2016) 'Vivaldi' (2023) and the Van Ostaijen series: 'Miavoye, the last journey of Paul van Ostaijen' (2014) and 'Boem Paukeslag' (2022, nomination Oorkonde). She also produced an audio walk through the Antwerp city center as part of 125 years celebration of the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (2023).
