Korneel Bernolet (b. 1989) is active worldwide within the world of historical performance practice as a conductor, harpsichordist and teacher. He conducts his own Apotheosis Orchestra in a repertoire ranging from early Baroque to high Romanticism and performs as a guest conductor with Anima Eterna Brugge, Collegium Vocale Gent (where he is also choirmaster), Il Gardellino, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Bach Akademie Australia, Muziektheater Transparant, International Opera Academy Gent, among others... As assistant conductor to Christophe Rousset, he works at the most prestigious houses (including Teatro alla Scala Milan, Wiener Staatsoper, Théatre du Châtelet Paris, Theater an der Wien, La Monnaie, Opéra National de Lorraine, the Philharmonies of Cologne, Paris, Essen...).
In addition to a worldwide solo career (from Europe to South America, Australia and South Korea), he is invited as a continuo player on harpsichord, pianoforte and organ with Les Talens Lyriques, Collegium Vocale Gent, Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, Staatskapelle Dresden, B'Rock, Scherzi Musicali, Vlaams Radio Koor... He has since made some thirty CD recordings and is principal study teacher in harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, where he teaches on the famous Dulcken 1747 harpsichord in Museum Vleeshuis and coordinates the working group on historical performance practice.
