Liza Penkova is a Swedish contemporary dancer of Russian origin. After her education at the Royal Swedish ballet-school in Stockholm and PARTS in Brussels she worked as a dancer with Rosas in Brussels where she took part in several creations and repertory productions. Later, she has been working mainly with freelance choreographers in Belgium and Scandinavia such as Frank Vercreyssen/TgSTAN (BE), Georgia Vardarou/Kunst Werk (GR/BE), Veli Lehtovaara (FI) , Helena Franzen (SE), Michele Noiret (BE), Annelin Axelssen/Human works (NO). She has also been one of the initiators behind the collective projects "House of Bertha", "Phd in one night" and "The Silent song". At the moment her interest in dance lies in the attempt to understand the origin of movement and the process of its formation.
