Maria Kolegova

Maria started her dance career in a ballet school at the age of five and continued her education as a contemporary dancer in a school of contemporary dance with support of the Centre of Contemporary Art in Yekaterinburg (Russian Federation). While studying, she discovered many techniques including martial arts and folk dance. In 2004, she performed a solo at the competition of contemporary dance in Seoul (South Korea) and became the golden medalist. After her graduation from the Theatre Academy (acting method of M.Chekhov) in 2006, she was part of ‘Chamber Ballet’ Moscow (Russia). During this period she has been working with choreographers for creations ''Rite ofspring'' (Regis Obadia), ''if the mushrooms would grow in your mouths'' (Andrea Boll), ''History of the soldier'' (Club Guy and Roni), ''Belovodie'' (Elena Fokina) and etc. Artistically, she is working with the choreographer, filmmaker and photographer Wim Vandekeybus and is a member of his company Ultima Vez since 2012. Through these years she has been part of creations ''What the body does not remember'' (2013-revival), ''Speak low if you speak love'' (2015), ''Mockumentary of contemporary savior'' (2017), ''Go figure out yourself'' (2018), ''TrapTown'' (2018), ''Traces'' (2019), ''Hands do not touch my precious Me'' (2021). She has offered an extensive amount of pedagogical activities across Europe by sharing her experience and developing training program through movement and theatre. Since 2017 she teaches in Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, from 2022 - teaches and creates in Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance(SEAD), collaborating as a guest teacher in Instituto del Teatro of Barcelona, collaborates as a teacher at the workshop program in SHARE Intensive in Berlin (Germany). In 2021 she created the piece for Sub.Lab.Pro project in Budapest (Hungary).
