Marta Djourina (born in Sofia, lives and works in Berlin) graduated in Fine Art at the UdK Berlin after completing a B.A. in Art History and a M.A. in Art Theory.
Her works have been shown in numerous international exhibitions, most recently at the Goethe-Institut Bulgaria (BG), Sofia Arsenal - Museum of contemporary Art (BG), FeldbuschWiesnerRudolph (DE), ICA Institute for Contemporary Art Sofia (BG), Berlinische Galerie (DE), Eskenazi Museum of Art at the Indiana University (USA) etc.
She has received the BAZA Award for Contemporary Art (2021), the Eberhard-Roters grant (Preussische Seehandlung Foundation, awarded at the Berlinische Galerie, 2020/2021), the AArtist in residence at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany (2022), Marianne Brand Prize for Photography (2022) etc.
In 2023 Djourina spent 2 months at RU Residency Unlimited in New York and 3 months at Cité internationale des arts in Paris with a grant by the EiB Institute. In 2024 Djourina just published her first extensive monograph with DISTANZ Berlin.
