Philippe Cortens worked as a music editor and selector for Belgian radio stations Studio Brussel and Klara, where he started after he finished his master Audiovisual Arts at RITCS.
Later he made the documentaries ‘Juul’s Ears’, ‘Jack Sels’ and ‘Fred Van Hove: An Improvised Life’. On his independent record label Cortizona he released reissues by Jean Hoyoux, a Belgian live recording by Freddie Hubbard Quintet and ‘Cul de Sac’ by pianist Frederik Croene, amongst others, on vinyl. In co-operation with Klara he curated ‘An Evening With Laika’ at Ancienne Belgique en ‘In Dreams’ in Kunstencentrum nona.
