Willy Julius Maria Vervloet has been teaching at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp since 1983. He began studying at this institution in 1977 in the then 'old structure'. He also took classes at the Brussels Conservatory from 1982 and completed the subjects of counterpoint and fugue with Rafael Dhaene. Willy Vervloet has also taught at the academies of Boom and Hemiksem since 1982. In the meantime, he has been studying musicology at the K.U. Leuven since 1990. He obtained his licentiate diploma in 1994 with a thesis on Karel Goeyvaerts. This thesis was published in abridged form in the Belgian Journal of Musicology. Since 1999 he teaches the course 'Exercises' at the K.U.Leuven.
