Linguistic musicality

The University of Antwerp and the Royal Conservatoire jointly conducted an experimental study into the relationship between musicality and pronunciation skills (insertion and emphasis) in acquiring a foreign language. After all, research in foreign language acquisition suggests a connection between musicality and pronunciation skills. In the project they checked experimentally whether 'feeling for rhythm and intonation' - the essence of musicality - coincides with the processes responsible for pronunciation skills in a foreign language.
