This project studies the relationship between music practice and scenography at the Flemish Opera in Antwerp, between 1907 and 1940. On the one hand, the research is conducted by a careful selection of musicians, directors, stage designers, etc. and on the other hand by a select number of operas (both local and international). The result of the research is a fundamental insight into early twentieth century opera practice in Belgium and beyond.
