Nomination for 'Outstanding Creative Contribution' of the National Dance Awards
Koen Kessels, teacher and member of the artistic direction of the Conservatory, has been nominated in the 'Outstanding Creative Contribution' category of the National Dance Awards as music director at the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Royal Ballet (Covent Garden).
Teacher writing wins Nobel Prize children's literature
Bart Moeyaert, writing teacher, wins the "Nobel Prize in children's literature" or the "Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2019", the most important prize for children's literature.

Jozef De Beenhouwer receives Peter Benoit Price
Teacher Jozef De Beenhouwer received the Peter Benoit Prize 2019 during a wonderful Peter Benoit Commemoration. With soprano Liesbeth Devos and the Spiegel String Quartet, he also played a wonderful recital during this evening that took place in the Museum Vleeshuis Klank van de Stad.
Laureates Arts In Society Award
Jonathan Westhorp, Misja Nolet, Sascha Bornkamp, Yelena Schmitz and Jef Callebaut were selected for the Arts in Society Award and will receive financial support to further complete there project.
Fien Leysen Jonge Maker (Young Maker) in 2019
In 2019 Fien Leysen, alumna Media, writing and performance art, will be the Jonge Maakster (Young Maker) at Het Nieuwstedelijk in 2019.
First EP for Gizmo with alumni Jazz
Gizmo arose from the coaching project at Jazz Middelheim with the American saxophonist Chris Cheek in 2015.
Prizes for former Drama students
Former students Natalie Broodts and Mathias Schoenaerts won an Ensor for best actrice and best actor, Liesa Van der Aa was praized for her music for 'Cargo'. Bruno Vanden Broecke won the prestigious Louis D'or in the Netherlands.
