The Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts is about to blow out 360 birthday candles. You can only imagine how many students have graduated here in the past couple of years - and even centuries! – and have traded the familiar ateliers and classrooms for a career in the arts sector or cultural field.

Supernova 2022: Awards for Ryelandt Trio and Firgun Ensemble
CLASSICAL MUSIC | Alumni win the awards at SUPERNOVA 2022. SUPERNOVA is an incentive contest that gives young artists recognition and playing opportunities: a calling card at the beginning of a promising career.
Belgian music week
The pandemic has hit the Belgian music scene very hard. To support all the fantastic artists from Belgium, a Belgian Music Week was organized from February 8 until February 14. Over the years, we were very privileged to see several of those artists find their sound at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. We are honoured to promote their work through our Facebook and Instagram accounts this week.

Jazz as a musical movement has very much grown out of its niche in recent years and found its way to a much larger and enthusiastic audience. The contribution that our students, teachers and alumni have made to this trend should not be underestimated.

Alumni take the stage: Hans Vercauteren
Alumnus Hans Vercauteren talks about his journey and experiences at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. He attained his master's degree in Composition in 2013 with Wim Henderickx and Luk van Hove. He also studied orchestral conducting with Koen Kessels and Ivo Venkov. For several years now he is a member of the Artistic Council of Music at the Conservatoire.
