Alumnus Hans Vercauteren talks about his journey and experiences at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. He attained his master's degree in Composition in 2013 with Wim Henderickx and Luk van Hove. He also studied orchestral conducting with Koen Kessels and Ivo Venkov. For several years now he is a member of the Artistic Council of Music at the Conservatoire.
Alumna Charlotte Wajnberg wins the the Canvas-Klara Prize (audience prize) of the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
During the final Charlotte sang with La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, led by Alain Altinoglu. Her father, Bart Cromheeke, is a flutist in this Symphony Orchestra. So after she shared the stage with her husband Aäron Wajnberg, she now shared the stage with her father.

On Thursday the 10th, Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th of May the finalists will be accompanied by La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, led by Alain Altinoglu.
Alumna Charlotte Wajnberg will go through to the semi-final of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for singing. In the first round she brought a recital with piano accompaniment by teacher piano Aäron Wajnberg, her husband.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, 55 candidates sang during the first round, 37 women and 18 men from a total of 18 different nationalities. In total, the jury chose 24 semi-finalists. The semi-finals will take place on the 4th and 5th of May. The other Belgian candidate is Marianne Croux with dual nationality (Belgian and French).
