New Doctor in the Arts
Marimbist Adilia Yip is the 8th Doctor of the Conservatoire. She examined the West African sounds and musical traditions of the balafon, an ethnic xylophone that is considered the forerunner of the marimba, with gourds hung under the wooden slats.
New Stabat Mater in world première in the Conservatoire
Researcher Paolo Galli has written a brand new version of the famous medieval-Latin poem Stabat Mater for HERMESensemble.
First EP for Gizmo with alumni Jazz
Gizmo arose from the coaching project at Jazz Middelheim with the American saxophonist Chris Cheek in 2015.
