THIS IS 2020

The European Award for Choral Composers, organisedsince 2011 by the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat, has evaluated 25 compositions by 19 European composers. In both categories an alumnus of our composition class was laureate. Jan Van der Roost was awarded with Amor, io fallo in the category for a cappella works. For works with accompaniment Maarten Van Ingelgem won the prize for Autumn Soils but also Vigdis Hansa Elst received a special mention with her piece How Sweet the Moonlight.

Marjolein Lemmens, master student piccolo from the class of Peter Verhoyen passed the exam for flutist/piccolo player at the Royal Music Chapel of the Navy.

Lucija Stilinovic, former flute student of Aldo Baerten's class, is winner of the 17th International Competition for Young Musicians Ferdo Livadić. She gets the chance to give concerts at Samobor Festival 2021, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Osor Festival and St. Marko's Festival. Marko's Festival. She also gets the chance to premiere a new piece by Mirela Ivicevic at Samobor Music Festival 2021.

Alumnus and composer Hans Vercauteren wrote the musical theater, 'Rain' together with Sarah Foubert (alumna vocals) Charles Sobry (alumnus Media, writing and performance art). The performance made by the three collaborating alumni opened the Tête-à-tête Opera Festival 2020 in London on September 8, 2020. More about 'Rain'.

Laurens Romboud, tuba student with Bernd Bernd van Echelpoel has been accepted as bass tuba with the national youth brass band of the Netherlands.
