STEP 2. Artistic entrance examination
If you meet the diploma and language requirements you will need to pass the artistic entrance exam as a second step.
2.2 ADMINISTRATION FEE
To be certain that you can participate, the administration fee (40 euros) has to be paid within two weeks after registration. The payment needs to be done online within the application tool. The application fee is non-refundable.
As soon as we have checked your payment, we will send you a link to an online entry form. Due to the summer closure, candidates for session 2 who complete their registration and payment before July 5 will receive their online form by July 10, the others by August 20.
2.3 PREPARING FOR THE EXAM
We ask all students from the Economic European Community (EEC) to take the entrance examination live. Foreign candidates who do not live in Europe can take the artistic entrance exams for instrument/vocal studies and composition by video recording.
All candidates must make an online motivation video. Candidates who participate online will also make a recording of their practical test. You can add links to your recordings in the online form. We only accept Vimeo and Youtube links (without password). Be sure to test beforehand that all links work properly for external visitors.
To prepare yourself you can find underneath:
- guidelines for the repertoire together with instructions for the general music theory exam,
- instructions for the other entrance exams, if applicable.
2.4 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Live entrance examinations will take place at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, Desguinlei 25, 2018 Antwerp. Candidates are expected to be available on the day(s) of the admission test and to be present at the announced time.
In case of online entrance examinations, the jury will use the video links provided in the online form for the evaluation.
Within seven calendar days from the decision, the results of the artistic entrance exam are sent by e-mail to the e-mail address specified by the candidate.
A prospective student may only enrol once per academic year, based on the same entrance exam unless specifically requested by the jury after the first participation.
