20:00 - Witte zaal
The oratorio class of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Ewald Demeyere, play two Neapolitan religious masterpieces: Stabat Mater by Fedele Fenaroli (1730-1818) and Messa by Leonardo Leo (1694-1744). With an introduction by Peter van Tour at 19:15 (in Dutch).
At the request of HERMESensemble and ARTICULATE, Paolo Galli, an Italian composer and doctoral researcher at the Conservatory, wrote a new Stabat Mater. Its title is based on a line from a religious song by Iacopone da Todi.
20:00 - Gele zaal
Actor Lucas Vandervost elaborates on the mythological sources of inspiration of Antwerp baroque painters. "Everything changes, nothing goes wrong", wrote Ovid in his collection of Metamorphoses, a work that Vandervost already used in his doctoral research. The metamorphosis from narration to story becomes the starting point of this lecture performance. (in Dutch)
