We are pleased to announce that the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp is organising a master class with renowned jazz vocalist Norma Winstone!
During her masterclass, Norma Winstone - one of the most influential jazz vocalists of the last 50 years - will coach the jazz vocal studies students in improvisation and vocal technique. The master class is unfortunately open to students only.
Norma Winstone is a British jazz singer, lyricist and teacher with a career that spans more than five decades. She has released several award-winning albums and has worked with John Taylor, Fred Hersch and many others in the past. Her voice has already been described by journalists as the new standard in jazz singing. She won many international awards and was awarded an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) by the British Queen in 2007 for her contribution to British jazz music.
In short, a grande dame both on stage and as a teacher. For as since the year 2000, she has combined her international career as a singer and lyricist with a job as a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music in London. We are therefore particularly pleased that Winstone is willing to take our students under her wing for a few days.
Those who want to see our jazz singers at work are welcome to attend Singers Night on 9 May 2023.
