NextDoors 2025

NextDoors

NextDoors is a multidisciplinary project week in which all Conservatoire students participate in sessions, workshops and projects, accompanied by artists from the various performing disciplines. A number of projects and performance moments are open to the public. Do not expect finished performances and concerts, however, but the result of a week of experimentation and collaboration.

Friday // 15:00 // performance moment // Calling Songs // Class room 435

In Calling Songs, Johannes Westendorp researches whether and how insect and amphibian choirs can be integrated into concert practice. To this end, in collaboration with Pieter Verhees and the musicians of Zwerm, he has built a sound installation consisting of eight speakers adapted to the landscape that can project their sound 360° across the venue. In the lecture performance for Next Doors, Johannes will tell about the course of his research and demonstrate part of the installation.
