A festive weekend for the Drama programme: Former students Natalie Broodts and Mathias Schoenaerts won an Ensor for best actrice and best actor. The music of 'Cargo', written by Liesa Van der Aa, was awarded the Ensor for Best Music.
Bruno Vanden Broecke won the prestigious Louis D'or in the Netherlands.
Former student Bruno Vanden Broecke wins the Louis d'Or for his interpretation in 'Para'. For this monologue, Vanden Broecke played an ex-commando and talks about his participation in the Belgian peace mission in Somalia, 25 years ago. He did so with great conviction: 'Bruno Vanden Broecke is an actor in' Para 'who does not seem to act: he becomes his character', according to the jury.
In our own country, the Ensors for best actor and actress went to former students Matthias Schoenaerts and Natali Broods. Liesa van der Aa wrote music for 'Cargo' which was awarded the Ensor for Best Music. Mathias Schoenaerts was praised for his role in 'Le fidèle' by director Michaël R. Roskam. Natali Broods was praised during the Gala of the Ensors for her contribution in 'Façades'.
