Kevin Voets

Kevin Voets is a historian and arts manager. He has conducted research on a range of topics in art and cultural history, with a particular focus on music. He published on the emergence of artistic research in Flanders and the transformation of conservatoires into Schools of Arts. As a member of HERMESensemble, he was for 25 years a privileged witness to ongoing developments in contemporary music. He also supported B.O.X, an ensemble that creates new music with historical instruments. He is a frequent guest speaker and contributor at the International Arts Campus deSingel. He serves on assessment committees for music theatre and arts institutions in Flanders and advises the Dutch Performing Arts Fund (Fonds Podiumkunsten). His current research focuses on the life and work of composer and educator Wim Henderickx, with whom he collaborated for fifteen years on several creations. Kevin Voets is Head of Research and Societal Services at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp (AP University College). He advises the music, drama, dance, and teacher training departments on research policy, coordinates the institution's research projects and artistic doctorates, and serves as secretary of the research council and as a member of the research bureau. He is part of the conservatoire's staff team and represents the School of Arts on the research council of the University of Antwerp and within ARIA (Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts). He also represents the conservatoire in the consultative assembly of docARTES.
