Wouter Steel teaches and coordinates drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He teaches drawing from a living model in the departments of Fashion and Graphic Design. During his lessons he tries to offer a nice interaction between technique and vision, but also searches for common interests whit the living environment of the students. This gets translated into artistically applied experiments. Like drawing with a Wacom tablet. As an independent and practicing visual artist, Wouter Steel often starts from the drawing and from the observed. The final result can be a painting, a detailed drawing or a monochrome, the basis remains the drawing. Wouter Steel has already done many exhibitions, many of them in-house. So he knows how to think of a project but also how to make it concrete.
