The Color in Shadow, a research into the subtle qualities of resonances in spaces between things

The Color in Shadow is a practise-based artistic research project by musician-composer Eric Thielemans. This transdisciplinary research wants to investigate the preconditions of a wide range of spaces in which we create, work, perform and display our works.

It is based on two questions: What is already happening in a space before we actually do something in it? How can we make this heard/seen/felt through collaborative interdisciplinary artistic creation? A research about the nature of perception, climatology and atmosphere and a reflection upon the notion of genius loci and its masks in our times. Counterpointing the loss of connection and alienation in the professional artistic field caused by formatting and reduction of richness and layeredness of meaning due to the acceleration of our times (Hartmut Rosa).

Thielemans will focus on mapping the research, creating frames and scores for artistic co-creation based upon specific questions that arise during (sometimes publicly) organized dialogues with the collaborating artists.
