In order for research to grow, the exchange of good practices is indispensable.
Each academic year, the studios at the Academy invite an artist, designer, theorist, curator and / or researcher to share his or her artistic research with the students and the research community. In addition to a public lecture or presentation - open to all students, teachers and researchers - a consultation moment or an in-depth workshop with the researcher is organized for the students.
From the academic year 2020 – 2021 onwards, the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp will offer a profound program in contemporary music. Under the name ‘Project-XXI’ a limited number of students will have the opportunity to work a whole academic year with specialized coaches within the field of new music.
The close relation with the different research groups from the Conservatoire will create new possibilities for students to collaborate in projects with both researchers and external partners.
Two Research Weeks are organized annually at the Academy. Within these weeks, research by students is central. The Research Weeks make an explicit connection between research and education, which gives students the opportunity to get acquainted with research(ers) and the research base within the Academy. During the Research Weeks they can choose from various masterclasses.
