Although contemporary jewellery is often reduced to a subfield of sculpture and conceived as closer to static art rather than to dynamic art, Lavinia Rossetti finds that jewellery has to respect the physiognomy of the body in order to give the wearer the chance to experiment her/his relationship with the piece.
The research of the choreographer and dancer Elisa Zuppini focuses on the production of movement as caused by body sensations coming from the interaction with space, objects and time. Rossetti and Zuppini noticed that they have common interests concerning movement, body and sensations and want to investigate the dialogue between the piece and the wearer; how the texture, weight and rhythmical structure of the object can affect the dancer and vice versa, the relationship between the dancer/performer and the piece as a context implying a constant re-shaping of both the piece and the human body.
By using different scales and proportions, Rossetti would create pieces to investigate the limits of wearability. Zuppini would perform with them, trying to bring to life an active dialogue between the object and her body.
