Over the years, the Drama programme has proven to be of substantial influence on the international performing arts, both through its alumni and faculty. However, the use of the Dutch language makes the curriculum less accessible to students from outside Flanders or the Netherlands. 

The curriculum consists of an academic bachelor’s programme of 180 ECTS-points and a master’s programme of 60 ECTS-points. Our alumni may be found at work in the major theatre ensembles in Belgium and the Netherlands, in the music entertainment business, and in the media.

Language requirements

At the time of enrolling in the academic bachelor’s or master’s programmes for Drama, students/candidates must demonstrate that they have sufficient knowledge of the Dutch language. The following will suffice for this purpose: evidence of having successfully completed one year of secondary education in Dutch, evidence of having achieved at least 60 study points in a Dutch-speaking course of higher education, evidence of having passed level C1 of the Interuniversity Dutch-language Test for non-native-Dutch Speakers (the “Interuniversitaire Taaltest Nederlands voor Anderstaligen” (ITNA)), or other evidence from a centre for adult education or recognised language centre.

Woordkunst

Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen zal vanaf september 2024 de afstudeerrichting Woordkunst meenemen in één alomvattende opleiding Drama. Onder de naam Verhalen&Maken wordt de vroegere acteeropleiding deel van een meer poreus keuzetraject.

Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen zal vanaf september 2024 de afstudeerrichting Kleinkunst meenemen in één alomvattende opleiding Drama. Onder de naam Muziek&Maken wordt de vroegere kleinkunstopleiding deel van een meer poreus keuzetraject.
