Bachelor Dance

As a contemporary dancer you are able to redefine. You can create, execute, take initiative and self-educate. You want to be artistically innovative. During projects, you work interdisciplinary with artists from music, theatre or visual arts. You will also get acquainted with dance and diversity during inclusive dance workshops.

The bachelor Dance covers three years of study. During your studies you will encounter a variety of contemporary dance techniques; you get in touch with choreographers and artists from Belgium and abroad; you are challenged to develop your potential and become a dance artist with a vision and an authentic personality.

Intensive dance training, improvisation, composition and choreography help you develop the skills you need as a dance artist in the work field. Complementary training such as yoga, movement analysis, anatomy and injury prevention will help you understand and use your own body. By offering you a theoretical framework and space for reflection, you will learn to relate to the world and the work field.

You will be accompanied by teachers with an active artistic practice. Both young talent and established international artists are attracted to the programme or for workshops, lectures, masterclasses, productions and performances. In addition, a team of mentors is ready to support you in your personal development on and next to the stage.

Each academic year offers you a wide range of projects that give you the opportunity to expand your techniques and expressive possibilities. Collaborations are established with the drama and music students, on the campus, but also with organizations and companies from the wider field of performing arts. The campus and production team provide infrastructure and support in the realization of projects.
