Library Royal Conservatoire Antwerp

The library of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp holds more than 600,000 volumes and is the largest music library in Flanders. The oldest work is a Gregorian manuscript from the end of the 13th century, the most recent works were written, so to speak, yesterday.

The library houses an extensive and varied collection of scores, books, reference works, magazines, manuscripts, old prints, music recordings and objects. Although scores and music books make up the vast majority of the collection in this conservatory library, theater literature and books on dance can also be found there. For a collection of poetry, a novel or an art book you can also visit the library.

Thanks to its exceptionally rich historical collection, the library was recognized as the first heritage library in Flanders. It is open to students and staff of the AP University College and external visitors can also consult the collection and borrow works (external visitors pay an annual membership fee of 10 EUR).
