Traineeship abroad after studies

Pimp your CV by working abroad!

There you are then: on your own feet and with your diploma in your pocket. And now what? No experience abroad yet? Or you have and it tastes like more? Erasmus+ also offers the possibility to do a traineeship abroad after graduation and apply for an Erasmus grant.

What is it all about? A traineeship (no study) outside Belgium and/or your country of origin (if not Belgium)* of at least 2 months, a traineeship that you look for yourself as soon as you have graduated.

For how long? After graduation you can do a traineeship for a maximum of 12 months. The number of months you went on Erasmus exchange during your last study cycle will be deducted from your total Erasmus grant.

When to apply? There is no formal application deadline and grants are awarded on a first-come-first-serve base. Do you want to be sure of a grant? Register during the last year of your study programme and BEFORE the day you graduate. Even if you do not have any particular plans for a traineeship yet.

Interested? See below which steps you have to follow.

*Exception: if the intern can demonstrate that he/she has resided for at least five years in a country other than the country of origin. The intern can demonstrate that he/she grew up in a country other than the country of origin.

1. Register via the VLUHR online application form.

2. Send your signed registration form to frauke.druant@ap.be (before graduation).

3. Look for a traineeship abroad and complete all the necessary information about the traineeship in Reconfirm (also possible after graduation).

4. As soon as you have an agreement, set it down in a "Learning Agreement for Traineeships" and send it signed to frauke.druant@ap.be

This presentation will help you on your way. Good luck!
